Smashing result for Tennis Knox and YMCA
YMCA Victoria has strengthened its community partnership of over 15 years in Knox by establishing an equipment supply deal with Tennis Knox.
The deal is a flow-on of a recent exclusive deal between the YMCA and Precor, one of the world’s largest fitness equipment manufacturers and suppliers. Precor is part of Amer Sports, a leading international sporting goods company that includes world class tennis brand Wilson.
The buying power of the YMCA-Precor partnership will provide an opportunity for members of the 13 tennis clubs that make up Tennis Knox to purchase Wilson equipment at significantly reduced prices.
Knox Leisureworks YMCA Manager Patrick Boyd said Tennis Knox was a strong and vibrant community based sporting body whose values are similar to the YMCA’s.
“We have been seeking to partner with and assist Tennis Knox because their overall aim is in line with ours – to promote a healthier and more active community,” he said.
“This is the first step in achieving even stronger community partnerships in Knox.”
Mr Boyd said the partnership was a win for sport in the local area.
“Tennis Knox was formed in 2013 by a group of clubs that wanted to try and raise the profile and memberships of tennis clubs in a unified way. Supporting proactive promotion of local sport is a good example of the community benefit our organisations can achieve,” he said.
“The YMCA is all about providing an opportunity for the residents in Knox to become more active, healthier and happier. This deal is a win-win for the residents of Knox and local tennis clubs.”
