Warm water pool sessions are great for people with a disability, injury or sensitive joints.
A warm water pool session can relieve muscle aches and pain, aid rehabilitation, increase blood flow to joints and improve flexibility.
Sessions are conducted by Arthritis Victoria, Angliss Hospital, Knox Community Health Service, Intergrated Health and a number of private physiotherapy providers.
Professional sessions are conducted weekdays, however you can use your membership or pay for a casual visit to use the warm water pool at any time.
Some private health funds will pay a benefit for hydrotherapy. WorkSafe, TAC, DVA and Medicare EPC pay benefits when hydrotherapy is prescribed by your doctor.
The warm water helps alleviate muscle aches and pains and allows gentle exercise without weight bearing.
Fitness and strengthening is achieved by using the resistance and turbulence of the warm water.
People with osteoarthritis, sports injuries, knee, neck, shoulder or back pain can benefit from exercise in the warm water pool. It is also a valuable aid in post-surgery or stroke rehabilitation.
Contact the centre for more information on hydrotherapy providers and session times.
Please note a minimum of one lane is available to the public at all times.
