We live in a society that encourages us to ‘do’ more which means we are busy most of the time and this may have a negative impact on our physical and mental well-being. So what can we do about it? By simply dedicating some time out for ourselves, we are able to improve our productively and create more peace in our lives.

Mindfulness has developed a strong interest in the modern world through the science and research supporting its many benefits, which include:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Obesity
  • Stress
  • Energy Levels

Knox Leisureworks runs a range of programs to help you experience the benefits of Mindfulness.

Mindfulness at Knox Leisureworks

Full Moon Meditation

Perfect for first timer's looking to experience the world of "Mindfulness" or for the regular user eager to continue to enjoy the benefits of the program. This fantastic session is a chance to get along, put some time aside for yourself and experience “Mindfulness”.

These fantastic sessions run monthly (typically on every third Friday of the month).

Urban Retreat

The Urban Retreat is a fantastic option to treat yourself by taking some time to rejuvenate! This one day urban retreat will allow you to calm the mind and relax the body and includes the following:

  • Yoga
  • Meditation
  • Mandala Colouring
  • Healthy nutritious lunch

This is the perfect way to nourish your soul!

15 Minute Meditation

Our 15 Minute Meditation sessions run twice per week and are designed to incorporate the benefits of meditation at the end of your group fitness session. They are free to join and add a sense of calm after your workout.

These two sessions currently run -

  • Wednesday 11:20AM (after Body Balance at 10:35AM)
  • Thursday 11:20 AM (after Pilates at 10:35AM)

Please note that these sessions are designed to run as an addition to existing classes and are not intended to be attended by themselves.

Mindfulness Workshop

The Mindfulness Workshop runs as a learn-the-skills type session. Designed to help participants learn the tools required to experience the benefits of Mindfulness in their daily lives.

Yoga & Tai Chi at Knox Leisureworks

Yoga's combined focus on participants mind and body make it the ultimate stress-reducing class. Yoga creates energy, strength, flexibility and well-being while aligning and balancing the body, mind and spirit. Knox Leisureworks offers 4 classes that run between Tuesday to Thursday. Please check the group fitness timetable for available sessions.

Tai Chi is a traditional Chinese system of slow meditative physical exercises designed for relaxation, balance and good health. Tai Chi currently runs on Tuesdays at 12:45 and is a welcoming environment for everyone of all ages and experience.
